Much of what we do on a day-to-day basis centers around those in our immediate circle — our family, our friends, and our neighbors. When they need our help, we make it our mission to give and do whatever it takes to improve their situation, whether that means we pick up an extra errand for them, help them with a household project, or slip a couple extra bucks into their hand. We are givers, nurturers, and caretakers for those we love, and it often brings us immeasurable joy.
Each and every day, we are bombarded with social media stories of people "paying it forward", "giving back", and "making a difference". How many times have you read of someone whose drink was paid for at the local coffee shop, or a good samaritan who stopped to help entertain a code-red-tantruming toddler in the checkout line? These stories are more than heart warming for us at Fore Ladies Golf. They're inspirational. They make us think about how our interactions with others can potentially change the tone of someone's day, and cause a ripple effect of good will that could never be quantified. These stories inspire us to do MORE.
In the spirit of doing more, we struck out to find a way to affect lives on a broader scale, and as luck would have it, we didn't need to search for very long. When LPGA Women Who Play NJ contacted us about a sponsorship opportunity, I recognized a real potential to pay it forward, give back, AND make a difference... and on a broader scale. After speaking with them one on one, a plan began to come together.
The partnership
Most of us know at least one person who has or has had breast cancer, I realize what a personal cause it is for so many, and for that reason, I am delighted to share that Fore Ladies Golf is partnering with Play for P.I.N.K. to help fund breast cancer research. For more than 20 years, Play for P.I.N.K. has been helping to organize golf, tennis, and other active events throughout the U.S. with the sole purpose of raising money to fund research. In that time, they have had over 30,000 participants and have donated nearly $53,000,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation!
