Featured golfer: LPGA long-hitter, Brittany Lincicome

Currently ranked 91st in the world, Lincicome was still a teenager when she turned professional at the end of 2004. She finished a solid tied for 20th at the LPGA Final Qualifying event to secure her card for 2005. Always a long-hitter, Lincicome lead the LPGA Tour in driving distance during her rookie campaign and was second in that category the following season.

She got into the winner’s circle in 2006 at the HSBC Women’s World Match Play Championship, defeating Juli Inkster, 3 and 2. Lincicome’s next victory the following year at the Ginn Open was very impressive, defeating Lorena Ochoa by a single shot. Another achievement was making the 2007 Solheim Cup team, which would be the first of six teams made in her career.

Nearly two years between wins, Lincicome’s next was the biggest of her career to that point. She won her first LPGA major at the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Entering the final hole down by a shot, Lincicome used her great distance to her advantage, enabling her to eagle the last for a one shot win over Christie Kerr and Kristy McPherson.

Over the next two years, Lincicome found the winners circle twice, both in 2011. After a near-miss at the 2014 LPGA Championship, losing a one-shot lead heading to the last and falling in a playoff to Inbee Park, Lincicome got back in the winner’s circle the following season.

Her second major title came in April 2015 at the ANA Inspiration, winning in a playoff over Stacy Lewis with a par on the third extra hole. Enjoying playing in the Bahamas, Lincicome won the 2017 and 2018 Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic. Another major accomplishment was her sponsor’s exemption to play in the 2018 Barbasol Championship on the PGA Tour. Although missing the cut after rounds of 78 and 71, she was only the fifth woman to ever tee it up in a PGA Tour event.

The 34-year old Florida native has 59 career top-tens and eight wins, including 11 top-tens and two major titles. Lincicome has also appeared in six Solheim Cup matches, compiling a record of 7-12-2. In limited play this season, she has missed two cuts in seven events.

This is going to be a big year for Brittany, and we are all looking forward to watching her blossom in her new role as mom as she continues to completely rock this golf season. We are all behind you, Brittany! Thank you for being so inspirational and fun to watch!
