Round-Robin Day 2

Madelene Sagstrom versus Wei-Ling Hsu (Sagstrom 1-up)

Hsu took an early lead with a par on the first hole. Sagstrom won three straight holes to close the front nine to take a 2-up lead. Hsu tied the match after winning the 13th and 14th. Sagstrom closed the match with a par to Hsu’s bogey on 18. Hsu was eliminated after losing her first two matches.

Ryann O’Toole versus Albane Valenzuela (Valenzuela 2-up)

O’Toole won two of the first three holes. Valenzuela took holes 8, 10, and 12 to take a 2-up lead. A par on the 13th by O’Toole got her back to 1-down before a double-bogey dropped her to 2-down. Valenzuela won the 18th with a par to win the match.

Jennifer Kupcho versus Lauren Stephenson

Stephenson took a 1-up lead after a birdie on the first hole. Kupcho evened the match with a birdie on the 3rd , but Stephenson went back on top with a birdie on the 4th. Kupcho took over, winning five holes to Stephenson’s one over the next 12 holes to win the match. Both players are 1-1 after two matches.

Stacy Lewis versus Emma Talley (Tied)

Lewis got off to a hot start, going four-under par over the first six holes to take a 4-up lead. Talley bounced back with birdies on the 8th and 9th to get to 2-down at the turn. She won the 13th hole before the two players alternated winning holes through the 17th. Talley tied the match with a birdie on the 18th.

Lizette Salas versus Su Oh (Oh 4-and-3)

Oh took the early lead with a birdie on the opening hole. Salas evened the match with a par on the 3rd and went 1-up with a birdie on the 5th. Oh won three of the last four holes on the front nine, including an eagle on the 9th. Salas evened the match with wins on 10 and 11 before Oh went three-under from 12 through 15, winning each hole and ending the match. Salas dropped to 0-2 and has been eliminated.

Hye-Jin Choi versus Aditi Ashok (Choi 3-and-2)

Choi won the opening hole with a birdie and never trailed in the match. Ashok tied the match with a par on the 5th. Choi won five of the next ten holes, including the 15th and 16th with a birdie to win the match.

Danielle Kang versus Eun-Hee Ji (Ji 2-and-1)

Needing a win to avoid elimination, Kang won the first two holes with birdies. Ji won the third with a par before Kang went 2-up with a birdie on the 7th. Ji closed the front nine with a birdie to go 1-down. Kang shot four-over the rest of the way, opening the door for Ji to win four holes and the match. Kang has been eliminated.

PajareeAnannarukarn versus Kelly Tan (Tied)

Anannarukarn shot three-under par on the front nine and opened a 1-up lead. Tan evened the match with a birdie on the 11th , but dropped two of the next three holes, losing the 14th with a double bogey. Tan bounced back with birdies on the 15th and 18th to tie the match.

Ayaka Furue versus Angel Yin (Furue 3-and-2)

Furue opened with two straight wins to go 2-up. Yin closed to 1-down at the turn after a birdie on the 9th and evened the match with a birdie on the 12th. Furue won the 13th and 14th to go two-up and closed the match on the 16th despite posting a bogey on the par 5. Yin has been eliminated after going 0-2.

Carlota Ciganda versus Pauline Roussin-Bouchard (Ciganda, 3-and-1)

Ciganda took a 2-up lead after an eagle on the 7th. Roussin-Bouchard bounced back with three straight wins to go 1-up through 10. It was all Ciganda the rest of the way, winning four of the next seven holes. Ciganda improved to 2-0.

Nanna Koerstz Madsen versus Elizabeth Szokol (Madse 6-and-5)

Madsen shot four-under par for 13 holes, including an eagle on the par 5 9th. She was never challenged by Szokol, winning eight holes. The victory moved both players to 1-1 over the first two matches.

Yealimi Noh versus Paula Reto (Reto 3-and-2)

Reto took a 1-up lead after a par on the first before Noh won holes four and six. Three consecutive wins on the front nine put Reto 2-up at the turn. Noh got to within one after an eagle on the par 4 11th. Reto got to 3-up after 14 and closed the match on the 16th, eliminating Noh.

Ally Ewing versus Jasmine Suwannapura (Ewing 3-and-2)

A two-under par score on the front nine for Ewing led four wins and a 2-up lead at the turn. Suwannapura won the 12th, but Ewing’s solid play earned two wins on the back nine and a birdie to close the match on the 16th.

So Yeon Ryu versus Jodi Ewart Shadoff (Shadoff 3-and-2)

Ryu was a relatively steady one-over par for the match, but won only one hole. Shadoff shot three-under par and went without a bogey, winning four holes. She closed out the match with a par on the 16th, eliminating Ryu.

AtthayaThitikul versus Amy Olson (Olson 1-up)

Thitikul won the second hole to go 1-up and increased her lead to 3-up through 11. Olson recorded two birdies over the next three holes, winning all three to tie the match. Both players tied the next two holes before Olson won the 17th with a bogey. She eliminated Thitikul with a par on the 18th.

Alison Lee versus Tiffany Chan (Chan 4-and-3)

Chan won the opening hole with a par and never trailed in the match. The only hole that Lee won was with a birdie on the par 5 4th. Chan won the 6th, 7th, and 8th and extended the lead to 4-up. She closed the match with a par on the 15th.

Georgia Hall versus Perrine Delacour (Hall 1-up)

Neither player had more than a 2-up lead in this tight match. Hall won four holes, two with birdies. Delacour won three holes, including the par 3 17th with a birdie, but it wasn’t enough. Hall closed it out when both players parred the 18th.

Mina Harigae versus Annie Park (Tied)

Harigae struggled to three-over par through the 8th leading to a 3-up lead for Park. Harigae battled back by winning six of the next seven holes. Down two, Park won the 16th and 17th holes with pars. Harigae secured a tie with ia par on the 18th.

Hannah Green versus Jenny Shin (Shin 5-and-3)

Despite recording par on each of the first eight holes, Green found herself 3-down. An eagle on the 9th proved to be Green’s only win of the match. Shin took three of the next five holes to improve to 2-0 over the first two matches.

Sophia Popov versus Haeji Kang (Kang 2-up)

Neither player held more than a 2-up lead in the match. Popov won the first hole with a birdie and fell to 1-down after six before tying the match with a birdie on the 9th. Both players were solid on the back nine with Kang winning five of the nine holes, eliminating Popov.

Charley Hull versus Esther Henseleit (Hull 3-and-2)

The match was tied through five before Hull won five of the next seven holes to take a 4-up lead. Henseleit won the 14th to get to 3-down but failed to get closer. She was eliminated after going 0-2 over the first two matches.

Ariya Jutanugarn versus Lilia Vu (Vu 2-and-1)

Vu got off to a fast start, winning four of the first seven holes. Jutanugarn stormed back to tie the match through 13, but Vu three of the next four holes to close the match and improve to 2-0 for the first two days.

Hyo Joo Kim versus Sarah Schmelzel (Kim 2-and-1)

Schmelzel birdied the first to take a 1-up lead, which held until Kim won four holes from the 4th through the 9th to take a 3-up lead. Schmelzel won two holes over a three-hole stretch from 14 to 16 to get to 2-down. Both players recorded par on the 17th, ending the match. Kim improved to 1-1, while Schmelzel dropped to 0-1-1.

Matilda Castren versus Allisen Corpuz (Tied)

Corpuz won two of the first three holes and led 2-up through six before Castren won the 7th with a birdie and the 9th with an eagle. Castren took the lead for the first time in the match by winning the 12th hole with a birdie. Corpuz tied the match on the 15th and rolled in a par putt off the green on the 18th to tie the match.

Jeongeun Lee6 versus Ashleigh Buhai (Buhai 5-and-4)

Lee6 shot six-over through 13 holes and never led in the match. Buhai won seven holes, two of them with birdies. She closed the match with a bogey on the 14th, improving to 1-0-1 over the first two matches.

Moriya Jutanugarn versus Maude-Aimee Leblanc (Jutanugarn 6-and-5)

Jutanugarn dominated throughout the match, losing on the 6th hole to a birdie. She shot two-under par without a bogey and won seven holes. Jutanugarn improved to 1-0-1 and Leblanc fell to 0-1-1.

Gemma Dryburgh versus Chella Choi (Dryburgh 2-and-1)

The match was tight through 15 holes with neither player holding more than a 1-up lead. With the match tied through 14, Dryburgh won the next two holes and closed the match when both players bogeyed the 17th. Dryburgh improved to 1-1 and Choi was eliminated, falling to 0-2.

Gaby Lopez versus Cheyenne Knight (Lopez 3-and-2)

Lopez rolled in birdies on three of the first four holes to go 3-up. Knight managed to win three of the next six holes to get to 1-down. Lopez increased her lead to 2-up after a birdie on the 11th and closed out the match winning the 16th hole. Lopez improved to 2-0 and Knight fell to 1-1.

A Lim Kim versus Andrea Lee (Lee 2-up)

Kim and Lee tied the first three holes before Lee won the next two to go 2-up. Kim and Lee alternating wins over the next five holes and Lee was 1-up through 10. Lee increased her lead to 2-up after a birdie on the 13th. Kim tied the match winning two of the next three holes. Lee went 1-up with a par on the 17th and won the 18th to win, 2-up.

Megan Khang versus Stephanie Meadow (Khang 1-up)

Through the first 12 holes, neither player managed to lead by more than 1-up. Meadow won four holes and Khang won three. On the 13th Meadow increased her lead to two-up. That was short-lived as Khang won the 14th. The players tied the next three holes, but Khang won the match with a birdie on 18.

Minjee Lee versus Brittany Altomare (Altomare 2-and-1)

Lee won four of the first seven holes to go 3-up, but the tide changed quickly. Altomare won five of the next six holes, including an eagle on the 9th. Both players parred the 15th, 16th, and 17th to secure the win for Altomare.

Caroline Masson versus Youngin Chun (Masson 2-and-1)

Masson won four of the first six holes to take an early 4-up lead. Chin cut into the lead after winning the 12th and 13th to get to 1-down. A birdie by Masson on the par 5 16th increased her lead to two. She finished the match and eliminated Chun on the next hole.
